Heiwai Tang is Director of the Asia Global Institute and the Victor and William Fung Professor in Economics at The University of Hong Kong, where he also serves as Associate Dean of the Business School. He previously taught at Johns Hopkins University and is affiliated with prominent research institutions such as CESIfo and the Kiel Institute. Professor Tang has consulted for major international organizations and specializes in international trade, global value chains, and China. He holds a PhD from MIT, and his research has been featured in leading economics journals and major media outlets.
